Gemma joins NetVU

Gemma is now a member of NetVU, the Network of Vertafore Users. Here is what NetVU is, and why an AI coworker for agencies wants to be in the room where Vertafore users compare notes.

Gemma is now a member of NetVU, the Network of Vertafore Users.

Gemma is a 24/7 AI coworker for independent insurance agencies and brokerages. It works in the channels an agency's insureds already use. A broker forwards a client email, loops Gemma into a text thread, or gives insureds a phone number that answers at any hour. Gemma runs the intake, asks the insured for whatever is missing, works up the quote, fills the ACORD, and hands it back for the broker's review. One memory sits behind text, email and phone, so an insured never repeats themselves when they switch channel.

Why NetVU

Most of the agencies we talk to run their book in an agency management system, and a large share of them run it in a Vertafore product. NetVU is where those users compare notes: an independent, volunteer-driven organisation of insurance professionals who use Vertafore solutions, with members in every state, dozens of local and virtual chapters, an online community, a training library, and Accelerate, its annual conference.

That is the room we want to be in. The people in it know exactly where the hours go in an agency's day, and which of those hours a coworker like Gemma should take.

“NetVU members are the most practical people in the industry. They run the system every day, and they can tell you in a sentence what would actually save them time,” says Jatin Sandilya, founder of Gemma. “We joined to listen to them. What we learn there shapes what Gemma handles next, and how it hands the work back into the system the agency already runs.”

Gemma and the management system

Gemma does not ask an agency to change systems. It works from the emails, texts, calls and documents the agency and its insureds already share, and returns finished work: a clean submission, an indicative quote, a filled ACORD. Where an integration with the agency's management system is ready, the finished work lands there; where it is not connected yet, the workflows are the same and the connection lands later without changing them.

Gemma is broker in the loop by default. It drafts replies, fills forms and works up quotes, and a person reviews before anything reaches a carrier or goes out on a binding basis. Binding policies, issuing payments and submitting directly into carrier portals are out of scope today.

About NetVU

The Network of Vertafore Users is an independent, national member organisation that provides industry advocacy, education and networking to insurance professionals at independent agencies, carriers and MGAs that use Vertafore solutions. Its roots go back to 1978, when a users' group formed around the ARCom agency system; it became the AMS Users Group, and in 2010 took its current name. Membership is free for Vertafore customers. NetVU runs NetVU University, an on-demand training library, an online community, local and virtual chapters, and Accelerate, the largest annual gathering of Vertafore users. Accelerate 2026 in Las Vegas ran under the theme “Powering Your Possible in the AI Era”; Accelerate 2027 is set for May 17 to 20 in San Antonio.
